I was recently asked by a colleague that has read-only privileges on the vCenter to also be able to see the VM Storage Policy present on the environment.

The specific privileges are inside the Profile drive storage and they are two:
Profile-driven storage update and Profile-driven storage view.
In this case, what I did is just clone the already present “Read-Only” profile and add the “View” privilege.

The minimum requirement to see the storage policy is to apply for this permission at the vCenter level and if not needed/unwanted that the user sees the rest of the environment do not propagate the read-only privilege. If you apply at the global level could be useful if you have multiple vCenters in Enhanced Linked Mode.
